Day Seven ~ Today we left Grand Canyon National Park behind and headed to the Fours Corners National Monument. We added a couple of hours to our final destination time but sometimes it isn't so much the destination but the journey. We arrived at four corners around 1pm. At one point I was in New Mexico, Ashlyn was in Colorado, Brooke was in Arizona and Mike was in Utah. All around the monument they have a square built for the local Navajo Indians to sell their goods. We decided to get a fry bread with honey and powdered sugar to share. It was, of course, delicious! Then we headed towards Salt Lake City, our final destination for the day. We were driving along enjoying the beautiful scenery when we saw a small parking lot next to the highway in the middle of no where then we looked over and there on the side of the road was a HUGE arch in the rocks. We pulled over and jumped out to take pictures then we saw you could climb up under the arch so we set out. It was such a neat, not planned, excursion and allowed us to get out and stretch our legs as this was our longest driving day of the whole trip. Then we kept heading into Utah. At around 6ish, I told Mike I was getting hungry because all we had done was snack since breakfast, then we saw a sign for the Moab Brewery that served dinner. (See Leslie and Andrea... Not Mexican). We stopped in and ordered our beer. I had a Porcupine Pilsener and Mike had a Heffiweisen (sp). They were both great beers... not Shiner but great none the less. I had a cheese beer soup in a bread bowl and a house salad with sunflower cilantro dressing. It was so good. Probably my fav meal of the whole trip. :-) Then we set off for SLC, but only made it to north Provo. We have about 5 more hours tomorrow then we will be in Yellowstone for 5 nights in a tent. I am not sure if I will have wifi there so may have to catch you up on a lot when we start the meandering way home. Night all xoxoxo
